Since 2003, AUG has invested multiple millions of dollars in the research and development of water monitoring applications. AUG continues its R&D activities in the environmental monitoring sector to create customized and viable solutions to each one of AUG’s clients.

Successful stories of AUG’s water surveillance system include:

From May, 2013 to March, 2015, a pilot project was undertaken in which seven TRITON units were deployed at different pumping stations across the City of London, Ontario. In 18 months of full-scale monitoring, TRITON results showed 99.5% agreement with those measured by a certified laboratory, with zero false alarms. By partnering with AUG for the TRITON pilot demonstration, London has helped to make Ontario a safe drinking water technology hub for Canada and the world, affirming its reputation as a leader in technological innovation and development.

The first field test of AUG’s TRITON system occurred over at two pumping stations in Edmonton, Alberta. Based on continual remote observation by AUG personnel as well as helpful suggestions from City of Edmonton employees, TRITON’s operational capabilities were fine tuned throughout the course of this five-year pilot study. As a direct result of this project, the City of Edmonton was able to identify a need for online water quality monitoring to complement its existing lab testing protocol.

In November of 2014, the eyes of the world were upon Beijing as it hosted the 22nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum. For this high-profile event involving several world leaders, the Beijing Health Inspection Agency selected AUG’s TRITON water surveillance system among numerous competitors to monitor online for the threat of intentional water contamination.

From July to October of 2013, AUG Signals undertook a pilot demonstration project at the Tianjin Economic Development Area (TEDA) Water Treatment Plant in Binhai, Tianjin, China. This plant drew water from either of two sources: desalinated water from a local power plant, or surface water from an open storage reservoir. TRITON’s inherently robust design allowed it to continue acquiring continuous water quality data despite drastic shifts in water characteristics due to the changing feed source.
