Natural Resource Exploration

AUG Signals (AUG)’s resource exploration service uses hyperspectral and multispectral technology. It efficiently provides unique techniques and accurately surveys large and poorly accessible areas for oil, gas, and mineral deposits. Leveraging on over two decades of experience and expertise, AUG’s sophisticated resource exploration service can distinguish between similar spectral signatures to provide credible results with minimal false detections.

AUG’s innovations in hyperspectral technologies significantly outperform commercial hyperspectral detection algorithms. Our innovations include Anomaly Detection, Spectral Angle Mapper (SAM), Mixture-Tuned Matched Filter (MTMF), Spectral Feature Fitting, and Linear Spectral Unmixing.

AUG’s key technology advantages include:

  • Capacity to detect/classify/identify materials, directly and indirectly, using endmembers and spectral signatures from a library or extracted from the image.
  • Ability to reliably distinguish between materials with similar features in spectral signatures.
  • Accurate mineral/hydrocarbon presence probability quantification with degrees of confidence for detection & identification results.

AUG’s hyperspectral technologies have mapped over 200,000 km2 across the globe and have been validated by professional geologists from the industry and Natural Resources Canada.

AUG’s previous resource exploration services include:

  • Hyperspectral survey for the South Baffin Island area, Nunavut for mineral map generation
