Genova, Italy – AUG successfully deployed a TRITON unit at the facilities of IREN in Italy. TRITON Intelligent Water Surveillance system offers continuous online water quality monitoring, managing and preventing water contamination events. This initiation is a part of the WaterSpy project.
The WaterSpy project is currently on its 32nd month of operation and the consortium partners are making final adjustments for the full operation of the device by the end of the 36th month. All efforts made so far have provided unique results and novel applications in both areas of hardware and software. The combination of the modules produced by the partners was successful and will be finalized in the next two months, thus preparing the consortium team for the field validation in IREN, Italy.
WaterSpy will be an add-on device for AUG’s commercial on-line water monitoring system— TRITON. Therefore, a TRITON unit was deployed in the field validation site this week for the purposes of the project. The unit is running continuously, 24/7, providing results every few seconds, thus assisting the operation of the plant in Genova. Overall, the site is now ready for the installation of the WaterSpy device and for the implementation of the field validation by the end of October 2019.
The cooperation between AUG and IREN through the WaterSpy project has been very successful and steady, proving that there will be many opportunities of possible synergies and projects in the future. The deployment of the TRITON unit in IREN premises is the beginning of a creative, efficient and long-lasting cooperation between the two companies. AUG’s novel applications will provide solid solutions to the demanding operation of water treatment plants and assist in the distribution of clean drinking water to the citizens of Italy.
