These technologies are applied to a variety of fields, including: defence and security, transportation, resource exploration, and environmental monitoring. AUG Signals also develops products for environmental monitoring and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).

About the position: Remote Sensing and SAR image Processing Engineer will be involved in leading edge research and development of satellite image processing algorithms for various applications, with a focus on processing Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images. Responsibilities of the selected candidate will be algorithm development, implementation and testing. Solid communication skills are required for presenting technology to clients.

This position is available either as full-time permanent or as a contract position subject to qualifications.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree or above in either Remote Sensing Engineering, Geomatics Engineering or any related fields
• 2+ years working experience with SAR image processing
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of Satellite Image processing techniques for both SAR and Electro-optical Satellite Imagery.
• Hands-on experience in designing algorithm procedure to obtain, prepare, process and information extraction from SAR data
• Solid and up-to-date knowledge about fundamental image processing techniques and concepts to be used for satellite image processing
• Programming experience using MATLAB, C/C++ and Python (C#, ENVI/IDL would also be beneficial)
• Knowledge about GIS concepts and software like Arc-GIS and QGIS
• Experience using OpenCV, GDAL or similar image processing libraries
• Proven verbal communication and technical writing skills
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team

Additional Skills and requirements:

• Experience in Machine Learning or Deep Learning image analysis is a plus
• Experience in project management is a plus
• Knowledge in InSAR and PolSAR processing is a plus
• Experience in extracting Interferograms and Polarimetric parameters from raw SAR images is a plus
