On May 20, 2014, AUG Signals hosted a public demonstration of its new Triton Intelligent Water Surveillance™ Online Drinking Water Monitoring System in London Ontario. The demonstration included a successful challenge test of Triton’s real-time early warning detection capabilities for heavy metals in municipal drinking water at the parts-per-billion (ppb) level.

Triton is a water quality monitoring and early warning system that currently operates successfully at seven (7) water pumping stations across London’s water distribution network. Triton provides online access to real-time water quality information on a 24/7 basis. It has high detection and contaminant recognition accuracy, with sensitivity that exceeds Health Canada and World health Organization standards. This technology provides unprecedented security for city drinking water by eliminating the risk of missed contaminations that may occur during the intervals between conventional manual sampling and laboratory tests.

Guests in attendance included the, Mayor of London, Ontario, Canada, city councillors, city operations and management officials as well as Ontario Government Ministries of Economic Development, Trade and Employment (MEDTE) and Ministry of Research and Innovation (MRI), the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA), the Burlington Economic Development Corporation, Keewaytinook Okimakanak (KO) First Nation and the media to witness this innovative technology that has the potential to significantly improve Ontario’s water safety and security.

AUG Signals has signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Toronto Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering (UofT) and Peking University’s College of Environmental Sciences and Engineering to commercialize new air quality monitoring products. The agreement also includes Wuhan Tianhong Instruments Co. Ltd, a developer and manufacturer of environmental monitoring equipment in China.

The initial focus of the partnership will be to develop and commercialize a portable air monitoring sensor network, incorporating a novel bioaerosol sensor and a low-cost multi-parameter array to generate valuable air quality data from Toronto and Beijing, supporting the growth of Ontario’s clean tech industry in domestic and international markets.
